nTop, formerly known as nTopology has released nTop 5.41.3 is a computational design software platform that enables engineers to create, analyze, and optimize complex geometry using implicit modeling and field-driven design methodologies.

This release features a new Export CFD Analysis Result block, enabling users to export Flow Analysis results. It also includes our new Custom Color Picker, which allows users to apply custom colors to their geometry.

nTop 5.41 - What's New

Export CFD Analysis Result

The Export CFD Analysis Result block enables you to export a Flow Analysis Result (computed on a uniform grid) to the VTK ImageData (.vti) format. The block converts all field data, including pressure, velocity, and temperature, into your specified unit system and writes them to a compressed .vti file. This output is a standard VTK XML file compatible with external tools like ParaView, and it includes special named arrays for the implicit field and cell region mask.

Applications:

- Export nTop Fluids results (Flow Analysis, Aircraft Flow Analysis, CHT) for high-fidelity visualization in ParaView.

- Use exported simulation data for training surrogate models.

- Save simulation results in a portable, compressed format to share with collaborators.

Location: Fluids > Exchange

- Path: The output file path (must use the .vti extension).

- Flow Analysis: The CFD Analysis Result to be exported.

- Compression: Choose from Fastest (LZ4), Balanced, Smallest (LZMA), or None.

- Unit System: (Optional) The target unit system for the exported grid and data (defaults to MKS).

- Output: CFDAnalysisFileData

Custom Color Picker

- You can now assign custom colors to objects using our dedicated Color Picker. This feature allows you to move beyond the standard palette by creating a separate "Custom" swatch for your specific design needs.

- Whether you are distinguishing between complex assembly components or preparing models for high-quality , the custom color picker ensures your workspace remains organized and visually intuitive.

- You can access the Color Picker by navigating to Display > Color > Custom.

- To reuse custom color palettes, either import a new palette or export the current palette by navigating to View > Color Palette.



Usage Improvements

- Conservative Meshing for Aircraft Flow Analysis: Implemented conservative meshing for the Aircraft Flow Analysis block. This significantly increases the accuracy of results (specifically Lift and Drag calculations) when running aerodynamic simulations on very coarse mesh configurations.

Bug Fixes

- We fixed an issue with the visualization of the Distance to Curve from Axis block that occasionally caused geometry to be rendered incorrectly when GPU acceleration was enabled.

- We fixed an issue that caused the notebook to scroll incorrectly when renaming a variable.

- We fixed an issue with the Flow Analysis block that caused gaps to form between the fluid and solid domains during mesh generation.

- We fixed an issue with the Flow Analysis block where incorrect enthalpy values were generated for boundaries touching multiple bulk domains.
