         Internet Download Manager is a program that allows you to increase file download speeds several times over. It supports download resumption and scheduled downloads. It offers various download acceleration methods, dynamic file segmentation and simultaneous download of multiple parts, the use of free open connections without reconnection, and much more. It also has a built-in bookmark for scheduled connections. It also supports firewalls, proxies and mirrors, FTP and HTTP protocols, redirects, cookies, download queues, and user authorization.

Internet Download Manager has a multilingual interface, extensive customization options, skin downloads, supports proxy servers, FTP, HTTP, and HTTPS protocols, works behind a firewall, supports file redirection, works with cookies, supports authorized downloads, previews ZIP archive content, categories, processes MP3 audio and MPEG video content, and supports a wide range of server platforms. IDM integrates seamlessly with browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, MSN Explorer, Opera, and Mozilla for automatic link handling. You can also drag and drop files or launch Internet Download Manager from the command line. Internet Download Manager can connect your modem to the network at a specific time, download the files you specify, and then disconnect or even shut down your computer.

Unlike other accelerators and download managers, where files are segmented before the download begins, Internet Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during the download process. In addition, Internet Download Manager reuses existing connections, skipping additional connection and authorization steps to achieve better speed characteristics.

When IDM is running, it displays its pyramid icon in the taskbar. The IDM menu can be accessed by right-clicking the icon. You can close IDM by selecting Exit from this menu.
