Tureis is a new Kontakt Instrument close to my heart, featuring three deeply evocative presets perfect for creating emotional ambient soundscapes.

I created Tureis using our beloved Yamaha U1 upright felt piano, an instrument that has been part of our family for many years. Renowned for its rich, resonant sound and impeccable craftsmanship, the Yamaha U1 is a favorite among pianists for its expressive, warm tonal quality and responsive touch. Situated in the middle of our lounge, it's always ready to be played, filling our home with music and memories.

To capture the essence of Tureis, I recorded single notes and phrases with two microphones positioned just 15cm above the hammers, with the felt pedal engaged. I then set about recording the intimate, warm sounds that make this piano so special.

Back at my editing station, I carefully segmented and chopped the recordings, then experimented with time-stretching (by 300-500 times), reversing, and resampling. This process turned those precious recordings into the unique samples that now breathe life into Tureis.

Each preset has a warm, emotional tone, perfect for creating expansive ambient pads. In Kontakt, the presets have two keygroups: red keys produce endless, evolving pads or drones, while green keys offer playable pads or notes.

Tureis also features eight assignable smart controls, allowing you to add your own unique depth and character to these soundscapes.

Tureis isn't just a tool, it's a piece of my musical journey, filled with love and nostalgia. I hope it brings as much joy to your projects as the Yamaha upright has brought to our home.

Please note that Tureis is not a traditional playable sampled piano instrument. I have not sampled each and every note separately. Instead, Tureis is an instrument that generates ambient pads and atmospheres, using the sounds sampled from the upright felt piano.

Controls

Soul: Infuse your sound with a warm, soulful touch.

Glisten: Enhance your sound with a shimmering, light-infused echo that makes it sparkle.

Color: Adjust for a bright, crisp presence or infuse warmth for a vintage feel.

Shine: Add a sleek sheen to the top of your sound.

Hold: Extend the sustain of your notes, letting them linger longer.

Pad Volume: Fine-tune each pad's volume to craft your perfect sonic foundation.

Mute Buttons: Instantly silence any effect or instrument with a single click, giving you full control over your soundscape.

Full MIDI Control

Assign any knob or slider to a MIDI CC Controller by right-clicking it, selecting 'Learn MIDI CC Automation' and moving your desired control.

All eight knobs support 'Host Automation' so you can automate them in your DAW. In Logic Pro, use Smart Controls, and in Cubase, Quick Controls.

For Maschine users, the eight knobs are pre-mapped to the controller knobs for easy access.

Add Tureis to Kontakt's Library Browser

Tureis includes the necessary files and full instructions on how to add the instrument to Kontakt's main Library Browser.

Requires the full version of Kontakt 7.10.2 or higher. This product will not work with the free Kontakt Player.
