TechSmith Camtasia Studio is a program for recording screen images to video files of various formats, it offers video editing capabilities, has Macromedia Flash (SWF), and built-in video players. The utility captures actions and sounds anywhere on Windows systems and saves them to an AVI file. To compress video, the developers of Camtasia Studio offer users their proprietary TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC) codec. This codec shows good results when encoding images with any color depth. Its algorithm puts minimal load on the system, so the codec can be used for encoding even on very low settings.
Camtasia Studio includes four utilities: Camtasia MenuMaker, Camtasia Player, Camtasia Theater, and Camtasia Recorder. The main program interface is used to work with all of these utilities.
